The Doves were Grocers and Provision Merchants in Hutton Cranswick and later in Beverley.

There are several Dove graves in the Hutton Cranswick churchyard.

How did a man from Beverley meet a woman from Aysgarth?

The Wheldales and Thompsons worked at Earles Shipyard in Hull.

John William Thompson (born in 1863) eventually worked for Cook, Welton & Gemmell's shipyard in Beverleyand even became a director. He was also Mayor of Beverley on two occasions.
